Network Design, Installation and System Integration
Adding new technologies as capabilities continue to develop can result in a confusing and inefficient array of IT systems. TTC can streamline systems to ensure maximum performance and optimize capabilities.
TTC has experience in maintaining our clients' computers and networks. We can design and implement new systems and proactively recommend improvements to current systems to improve performance and ultimately reduce costs.
Our approach is to ensure that our clients can continue operations as smoothly as possible during hardware and software procurement and integration.
Case Study: Integrating Applications for Improved Performance and Communication
Client: Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Office of Security Technology (OST)
Project: The Security Technology Integrated Program (STIP) application suite is a collection of applications integrated into a web portal. The primary scope/purpose of the project was to network all the security equipment deployed at all 450(+) federalized airports. The project's scope included: reporting, remote monitoring and maintenance, announcements, configuration management, user management and data warehousing.
STIP was a complex operation and required coordination and communications with airports, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) of security equipment, the Government and contractors in order to define and implement the requirements that would bring project success. TTC supported the project by participating in the concept development, planning, requirements gathering, development, testing and implementation of .NET web applications as well as Oracle database development and administration. TTC also provided maintenance support.
STIP had many stakeholders and technologies that needed to be integrated. The security equipment had to be retrofitted and updated. All security equipment needed to be networked to the TSA-NET Servers hosting the central applications and databases needed to be Certified and Accredited (C&A) into the TSA network.
Client Results: DHS benefited from STIP and TTC's participation by lowering the maintenance costs of the security equipment deployed at the airports. Prior to the application being implemented, technicians had to travel twice to the equipment site, once to troubleshoot the problems and a second time to repair the problem. STIP also benefitted from the development of remote configuration. Prior to the implementation of the project, any configuration changes to the equipment, such as software updates, image library updates or equipment settings required technicians to travel to the site.
