Case Study: Implementing New Technology in Legacy Systems
Client: Cisco Systems, Inc.
Project: The Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing System is the industry's only carrier routing system offering continuous system operation, unprecedented service flexibility and system longevity. Powered by Cisco IOS XR Software, it is designed for "always-on" operation while scaling system capacity up to 92 Tbps. Cisco recruited and hired a group of technical training consultants, including Technology and Telecommunications Consultants, LLC (TTC), to be an integral part of their advanced services group. TTC assisted their key ISP customers in the transition to the new technology, thereby helping quickly deploy this innovative and unique product to market.
The TTC team traveled to different Cisco ISP (e.g. Verizon, Comcast, Bell Canada) locations to conduct and support the knowledge transfer process and deploy high-end new services such as interactive video.
Client Results: By implementing this new technology Cisco customers can save money on Data Center real estate and recurring power and cooling costs. This technology allows ISPs to downsize equipment needs.
